18  | 按：《實錄》鈄遠十一年襲封，同諸功臣屢出練兵。自二十六年二月陝西召還之後，遂無聞焉。《公侯伯襲封底簿》載茂有弟常睿釕繼祖，發雲南臨安衛安置，而不記鈧所終。鄭曉《名臣記》：靖難兵至浦子口，鈑胛汗公分道力戰，已而羆上得釋。諸家記革除事，皆為盍⒋，參列于魏、曹二國之間。今以《逆臣錄》考之，則釵藍玉之甥，初與通謀，玉既伏誅，又于三山聚兵謀逆。反狀已具，爰書臚列，而得免于聖祖之刑﹃，有是理乎？然則鉅遠十六年伏法，無可疑者。《襲封簿》不記其所終，蓋諱之也。羆確法，又安置其子於雲南者，茂既無嗣，不忍復誅鈧子，此議功議親之法也。若如鄭曉所記，則鈑誥甘降檬橢後，成祖遂釋而貰之乎？抑亦既釋而終不免乎？若釋而貰其罪，則羆鵲檬鴕櫻不應又放其子于臨安也。若既釋而仍不免，則以怒鈧故，放其子于臨安，不應兩年之內，旋召見而厚賜之也。故常鈧事，當以《逆臣錄》《襲封簿》二書為正。其它革除諸書所載，一切削去可也。王世貞撰《開平世家》云：羈咕改咽Φ米錚安置臨安，以憂卒。此尤為附會，不足置辨。 |
