3  | 陳某者，常熟塗松人。家頗饒，然夸奢無節。每設廣席，郩飣如雞鵝之類，每一人前，必欲具頭尾。嘗泊舟蘇城沙盆潭，買蟹作蟹螯湯，以螯小不堪，盡棄之水。狎一妓，為製金銀首飾，妓哂其吝，悉拋水中，重令易製。積歲負租及官物料價頗多，官府追償，因而蕩產。乃僦屋以居，手藝蔬，妻辟糹盧自給。鄰翁憐其勞苦，持白酒一壺、豆腐一盂餽之，一嚼而病泄累日。妻問曰：「沙盆潭首飾留今日用，何如？」某云：「汝又殺我矣。」 |
