《第七卷》
12  | 戶部尚書夏忠靖公原吉，長沙人，德量寬厚，喜怒不形。永樂間，嘗以治水至崑山，寓千墩禪寺，所居不設儀從。鄉民數人入寺遊觀，公方坐室中觀書，不意其為夏公也，雜坐其旁。既而它之，問僧云：「尚書何在？」僧云：「室中觀書者是也。」民懼，乃奔云。公好食煼豬肝，一日膳夫供具，公飯盡而肝如故，怪之。已而分食，乃知入鹽過多，鹹不可食也。人服其量。楊東里作公《神道碑》，記隸污織金賜衣，吏碎所愛硯，皆無怒意。謂其有王子明、韓稚圭之度，非過稱也。 |
