牛魚本草生東海中頭似牛潛。確《類書：海牛紫色，無角，龜足鮎尾，性敏㨗，見人則飛入於海，膏可燃燈皮，可為弓鍵，矢服程大昌《演繁露》，契丹主滔爾河釣牛魚以占嵗。周麟之《海陵集》有梁大便者，先朝內侍也，入館傳旨，賜金蘭酒二瓶，銀魚牛魚二盤，牛魚出混同江，其大如牛，周必大。二老堂□志：牛魚一尾之直與牛同，周樞密，麟之使金，金主愛之，享以所釣牛魚，非舊例也，樞宻糟其首以歸，獻於朝，同館王龜齡目為魚頭公。《明一統志》：牛魚出混同江，大者長丈餘，重二三百觔，無麟骨脂肉相間，食之味甚膄，今罕見，或云即今之鱏鰉魚也，是一是二存以叅考。勾星魚，黒龍江出鱗，斑然如列，星長喙，漁者間以箸探其口，齧之至死，不釋段刄之釡中，猶躍躍也。
