5 | 古今人言靜字所指不同,有淺深難易。程子言性靜者可以為學,與諸葛公言非靜無以成學」,此「靜」字稍易。夫人皆可勉而為周子言,聖人定之以中,正仁義而主靜,與莊子言萬物無足以鐃心故靜,此靜字則難,非用功聖學者未之能也。大學靜而後能安之,静正與周子、莊子所指無異。朱子以心不妄動釋之,即孟子所謂不動心也。孟子之學先窮理,知言先,集義養氣所以能不動心。大學》之教窮理知言則知止。集義,養氣則有定所以能靜也。能靜者雖應接萬變,而此心常如止水,周子所謂動而無動」是也,安則素其位而行,無入不自得之意。予《讀靜安堂銘》九十六言最喜,艮止其背,萬物之鏡」八字為其義。竊觀長沙易先生於《書》之《禹貢》,禮之《周官》,說皆精緻卓然度越諸家。而程子所續《孟子不傳之學,則有未數數然者,故予每取其所長。 |
