馬應圖，天啓，平湖縣志，字心易。萬厯丁丑進士，任行人。奉使歸，篋中圖書數卷。司選者亷其清欲，擢臺省，遣人示意應圖曰：「吾肯作呈身御史哉？」遂遷刑部主事，陞禮部郎中。疏劾科道齊世臣等，幷及首輔。神宗怒，謫典史，陞邑令。再陞刑部主事。病免歸。家貧，假貸不得，布袍草屨，燃紙代薪，僮僕二三，鶉衣百結為傭餬口，嵗時一詣階庭而已。事繼母孝，聘妻有癎疾，勸之別娶，不聽，迨歿，幾不能殮。胡士竒天啓平湖縣志，字重之。萬厯丙子舉人，家赤貧，僦舍一楹以居。署進賢教諭，擢國子博士，轉兵部司務，㑹上怒職方郎郎，首輔子輙移罪司，務謫仙遊訓導，擕一蒼頭抵任，歲餘卒。遺囊僅圖書數卷。婦更貧困，門人馮伯禋間，周之謝不受。

秦鈁，《兩浙名賢録》，字鳴和，慈谿人。嘉靖庚戌進士，授南太常博士。故事，有事太廟，恒宴集中，貴與堂卿南向坐，博士東向。鈁至，見設席怫然欲去。中貴曰：「秦先生難我乎？此例也」。鈁曰：「非國典，誰能遵之？」自是博士別宴他所，著為令。晉考功郎，當大計，持議侃侃。冢宰恚曰：「司官何動相左耶？」鈁曰：「某知公道宜爾，不知其他」。滯曹十餘年不調。後晉山東副臬時恆王雅重鈁內艱歸，以古硯贐辭。王曰：「姑為鬱林裝」。鈁不得已，受之。比啓函則百金，藉其下。鈁驚，幷硯返之，王愧謝。服闋，補湖廣兵備，厯轉江西左轄。乞休歸，里居，杜門掃軌，片牘不入公府，布衣蔬食，蕭然如寒士。
