119  | 王琚言于上曰："事迫矣，不可不速發！"左丞張說自東都遣人遺上佩刀，意欲上斷割。荊州長史崔日用入奏事，言於上曰："太平謀逆有日，陛下往在東宮，猶為臣子，若欲討之，須用謀力。今既光臨大寶，但下一制書，誰敢不從？万一奸宄得志，悔之何及！"上曰："誠如卿言。直恐驚动上皇。"日用曰："天子之孝在於安四海。若奸人得志，則社稷為墟，安在其為孝乎！"請先定北軍，後收逆黨，則不驚動上皇矣。"上以為然。以日用為吏部侍郎。 |
| 136 | 己亥，上幸新豐；癸卯，講武於驪山之下，征兵二十萬，旌旗連亘五十餘里。以軍容不整，坐兵部尚書郭元振於纛下，將斩之。刘幽求、張說跪於馬前諫曰："元振有大功於社稷，不可殺。"乃流新州。斬給事中、知禮儀事唐紹，以其制軍禮不肅故也。上始欲立威，亦無殺紹之意，金吾衛將軍李邈遽宣敕斬之。上尋罷邈官，廢弃终身。時二大臣得罪，诸軍多震懾失次，惟左軍节度薛訥、朔方道大總管解琬二軍不動，上遣輕騎召之，皆不得入其陳。上深歎美，慰勉之。 |
