36  | 粵中語少正音，書多俗字，如謂平人曰「犬老」，謂新婦曰「心抱」，謂父曰「爸」，謂母曰「你」，謂子曰「崽」，子女末生曰「［A17Q］」，衣一襲曰「一沓」，稻一熟曰「一造」，禽之窠曰「斗」，禽之卵曰「春」，此粵語之異也。其字之隨俗撰出者，如：穩坐之為「大坐」，音穩。人物之短者為「不高」，音矮。人物之瘦者為「不大廈」，音芒。山之巖洞為「石山」，音勘。水之磯激為「泵」，音聘。蓄水之地為「氹」，音泔。通水之道為「圳」，音浸。水之曲折為「乪」，音囊。路之險隘為「卡」音水義。隱身忽出為「閄」，音或。截木作墊為「不」，音墩。橫木上關為「閂」，音拴。此粵字之異也。至於士子行文，亦多變體，以華作華，以茲作［1234］，以悵作犬長，以閱作𨵃，以貺作兄，以曷作［1234］，以聞作人耳，以鄰作伶之類，率皆仍訛襲陋，有乖六書之旨。然而師以訓弟，父以訓子，授受相沿，遂成錮疾，司文柄者，尚宜出而正之。 |
