4  | 燕王看這道士嚴聲厲色，侃侃鑿鑿，不像個奸細，便道：「他既知朕是真命，原來扶助，功成之日，自然大加敕封，使天下的人都崇奉他，豈不榮顯？你兩個可去請來。」道士微微笑道：「古來帝王之求賢者，如商湯有莘之聘，高宗版築之求，文王後車之載，先主草廬之顧，彼不過塵世的賢人、君子，尚且如是尊重，何況超出三界之神聖？怎麼說著臣去請呢？？燕王道：「這話說得近理。朕將玄糹熏玉帛，差個天使同你前去便了！」道人說：「若是這樣輕褻，是決不來的。庶民之家，信了佛法、道教，尚然大施金錢，何況貴為天子，只用些幣帛，又首個官兒們去，足見陛下不誠心的了！」燕王叱道：「難道不是差人，朕到自去請他不成？他不來，朕自有法平此妖寇，毋得妄言取罪！」道士相顧笑道：「未必，未必，我師原說直待太子登基，然後顯神通，為他平妖滅寇。如今這皇帝心嬌氣傲，不屑去出力的，由他直殺到京中，干我們甚事？」 |
