《序》
1  | 稱「核真」者，以坊刻之訛，故加核也。坊刻類以南身記北事，耳以傳耳，轉相舛錯，甚至風馬牛不相及者，其不真也固宜。然綜前後諸刻而論之，有三變焉：其始國難初興，新聞互競，得一說則書之不暇擇者，故一刻出，多有所遺、有所誤、有所顛倒，此出于無意，一變也。即而南奔僞官，身為負塗之豕，私撰僞書，意圖混飾，或桃僵李代，或淵推膝加，且謬謂北人未免南來，一任冤填，罔顧實迹，此出于立意，又一變也。十七年之鐵案即翻，占風望氣者實煩有徒；歸美中珰，力排善類，甚至矯誣先帝，創為「收葬」之言，培擊東林，明立逢時之案；捉風捕影，含沙射人，此陰險之極，出于刻意，又一大變也。夫書三寫，則以魯為魚，以帝為虎，猶無意也，豈有立意、刻意而就中虛實尚可究诘乎？ |
