1  | 無錫陶某精武術，號內家，善用槍，世有陶家槍之目。武官蒞是土者，必先謁其廬，無敢慢。有蔣志善者，咸豐間，嘗官無錫守備者也，獨不禮焉。陶怒，盛氣往謁，見蔣長身皤腹，肌肉墳起，知必孔武有力，內怯，氣頗懾，不敢輕發怒，歸。蔣乃報謁，請曰：「聞陶家槍精妙無敵，某駑，不敢請槍法，願賜君槍觀之。」陶素以槍法自負，出槍眎，不覺擺舞作勢。蔣亟止之曰：「君槍法，自是猛無匹，惜槍幹劣，不任舞，稍用力折矣，奈何？」陶不信，曰：「此幹良材，乃不任舞耶？」蔣索槍，握其梢，力擺動，幹砉然斷，笑曰：「何如？某藏數槍，似不劣。」陶慚，必欲一視其槍，乞隨蔣返署，索視槍，實勝己所用者。蔣又請曰：「此槍可用，幸得一覘君伎。」陶唯，竭力飛舞，驅撥空中，氣呼呼有聲。蔣睨視久，曰：「止止，君用槍，乃不任刺人。」陶大駭曰：「薄伎至不足道，然天下乃有用槍之不任刺人者乎？」蔣拍其胸，曰：「不予信，君試刺我。」陶怒，斥曰：「君胡予戲，死君，且論抵。」蔣又激之曰：「君殊自多，予信君伎，必不任相死。」陶憤，曳槍回走十數步，遠舞作刺勢，逕前，洞蔣胸，蔣疾解巾，揮格之，巾纏槍尖，不得脫，嚮後倒掖之，陶失槍，不覺拜伏地曰：「願有以教之。」蔣呼取盂水與陶，曰：「視予急舞，即持潑予體。」乃起持槍舞，閃閃成白光，大若徑四五丈車輪。瞥忽耀陶目，至不能張視，疾取盂潑之水，水點紛紛反潑，下若雨，淋漓滿己身，無一點著蔣體者。 |
