《卷三》
44  | 波羅蜜，一名優缽曇。廣東志：「南海廟中，舊有東西二株，高三、四丈，葉如蘋婆而光潤，蕭梁時西域達奚司空所植；他所有，皆從此分種」。生五、六年，至徑尺，削去其梢，以銀針釘腰，即結實。成實乃花；然常不作花，故佛氏以優缽曇花為難得。每樹多至數十實，自根而幹、而枝條，皆有實累累疣贅。若不實，則以刀砍樹皮，有白乳湧出，凝而不流，則實；一砍一實，十砍十實，故一名刀生果。熟以盛夏，大如斗，重至三、四十筋。皮厚有軟刺，礧砢如佛頭旋螺；肉含純瓤，間迭如橘柚囊，氣甚芳郁。有乾濕苞之分。乾苞者液不濡膩，味尤甜。每實有核數百枚，大如棗，仁如栗黃；煼熟可食，能補中益氣，悅顏色；志云「色綠似如來頂，液黏如漆」是己。其子卻似橡實，每一子為一房，熟而食之，味似百合；子不可生食，瓤可生食，亦不甚甘美，終不似橘柚味佳也。土人用波羅蜜子煨肉，黃梨煮肺，亦海外奇製。 |
