5  | ○周虎虎，平江人。今有武狀元坊，則其家也。黃公由以進士第一人旌其坊為「狀元」，故用「武」字以別之。虎倜儻有大將器，身兼文武，能賦詩，工大字。開禧間守和州，敵騎蔽野，居民官軍無以為食，城欲下者屢矣。其母夫人自拔首飾奩具，巡城埤，遍犒軍，使盡力一戰。命虎同士卒甘苦，與之俱攻圍以出戰。士卒感其誠意，遂以血戰，敵騎幾殲。上守城功歸于母，朝命封以「和國」，賜冠帔云。虎之居吳也，言者以為韓黨，坐安置□州。虎既貧，不能將母以往。未幾，謫所聞訃，號慟，誓不復仕。放還，杜門托▉疾，屢召不起。雖舊所部候之，亦堅不與接，但喏於庭而去。 |
