10  | 次日早朝會同六部，上了一本，就保奏羅增去鎮守邊頭關，征剿韃靼。聖上準本，即刻降旨，封羅增為鎮邊元帥，限十日內起行。羅爺領旨回家，與秦氏夫人說道：「可恨奸相沈謙，保奏我去鎮守邊關，征剿韃靼。但是盡忠報國，也是為臣分內之事，祇是我萬里孤征，不知何時還家，你們在京，我有二件事放心不下。」太太道：「有那兩件事，這般懮慮？」羅爺道：「頭一件事，奸臣當道，是是非非；我去之後，怕的是兩個孩兒出去生事闖禍。第二件，祇為大孩兒已定下雲南貴州府定國公馬成龍之女，尚未完姻，二孩兒尚且未曾定親。我去不知何時可回，因此放心不下。」夫人道：「老爺言之差矣，自古道：兒孫自有兒孫福，莫替兒孫作馬牛。但願老爺此去，旗開得勝，馬到成功，早早歸來。那時再替他完姻也未為晚。若論他二人在家，怕他出去招災惹禍，自有妾身拘管。何必過慮！」當下夫妻二人說說談談，一宿晚景已過。 |
