30  | 司馬楚之，字德秀，晉宣帝弟太常馗之八世孫。父榮期，晉、梁、益二州刺史，宋髙祖，𡰥司馬戚屬。楚之亡，匿諸沙門中濟江，自歴陽西入義陽、竟陵蠻中，轉側汝、潁之間，收衆據長社，歸之者常萬餘人。太宗末，遣使請降，世祖初徴入朝，封瑯琊王。車駕伐蠕蠕，詔與濟陰公盧中山等督運以繼大軍。時鎮北將軍封杳亡入蠕蠕，說令撃楚之等以絶糧運，蠕蠕乃遣奸覘入楚之軍，截驢耳而去，有告失驢耳者，諸將莫能察，楚之曰：「必是覘賊截之以為驗耳，賊將至矣，即使軍人伐栁為城水，灌之令凍，城立而賊至，氷峻城固，不可攻逼，賊乃走㪚。世祖聞而嘉之，尋拜假節、侍中、鎮西大將軍、開府儀同三司、雲中鎮大將、朔州刺史。在邊二十餘年，以清儉著聞。和平五年薨，年七十五，髙宗悼惜之，諡貞王，陪葬金陵。 |
