4  | 李芳，字孟收，號翠臺，晉江青陽人，木齋先生曾孫。少從世父晉峰逢期，為潛心躬行之學。其治經史，有摘要手抄字結撰，必端音叶律比旁及詩騷補弟子員所師事，則蔡東洛所長，事則留朋山、王堣齋莊方、塘林象川、張月洲，諸公皆一時鉅人，長者無不器重之，偃蹇青衿二十餘載，志逾壯，自標署逾髙，為詩若文結語，務益峻。諸子、次弟受經，舉所手録，付之誨，敕如所受世父時曰：「伯而其紹明，先人易學，仲可繼予尚書，謂春秋聖人經世大業叔，而頴可學也，於是三子各占一經。芳為人篤於根本，大節而周旋，造次必以度，眎直履莊，自舞勺時，習於王父所則然，長乃堅定之，老而彌篤，事王父母如父母，送終追逺，尤毖其心，力切友于之誼，於危難彌篤，營搆必先家廟産業，先祭田首，髙祖父以及父各若干畝，諸墳完葺一新，凡三十年，而一息弗忘，雅負人倫鑒，左司徒郭惟賢未遇，時窶特甚，芳器賞其文，命伯子與友，虀糜共之，卒為世名卿，與人交，傾洞肺腑，人有過，輙面折不為隱，然事已輙忘他，如倡新文公祠疏，决渠淤里，人頌之。嘗自題畫像云：「律身如口，出口如肝，三經教子遺後以安子，伯元、叔元、晚以叔元主政，刑部封如其官。 |
