84  | 時賊黨劉進忠駐兵遂寧縣，與漢中相拒。漢中守將，乃馬科也；馬科原系李自成部將，陜西戰敗，投順大清，領兵萬餘守漢中，將窺西川。進忠恃勇，頗輕科；而進忠不受約，私發部下兵襲漢中，與馬科再戰再敗，折兵大半，仍歸駐遂寧。獻忠聞進忠敗回，大怒，命偽翰林寫敕讓進忠。獻忠一字不識，凡平日發敕書與群下必口述過；不論鄙惡，悉照其口語書之。如差一字，便殺代書者。是時進忠在遂寧，忽傳朝廷有敕書至，即傳合邑有司、鄉紳、士民郊外迎敕至公所拜辭畢，命生員登壇開讀，官民跪聽；但聞其上高聲讀云：『奉天承運皇帝詔曰：咱老子叫你不要往漢中去，你強要往漢中去；如今果然折了許多兵馬驢球子，入你媽媽的𣬼！欽哉』。文武士民俱向上叩首，呼萬歲謝恩而退。進忠知獻忠怒甚，料不能免；於是帶兵連夜入漢中求馬科投大清矣。 |
