14  | 八座之任，蔡謨為尚書，上疏曰：「八座之任，非賢莫居，前後選用，名賢有常，孔愉、諸葛恢並以清節令才，素有名望，臣名軰不同，階及殊懸。今猥以輕鄙，超踰等疋，上亂聖朝貫魚之次，下違羣士凖平之論，豈唯㣲臣斯亡之誡，實貽聖政維塵之累。萬事本尚書，萬事之本，朕所責成也，而廩秩儉薄，甚非治體，今雖軍國多費，不為元凱惜祿，其依令、僕給尚書各親信五十人廪賜，夅奏辝疾卞壼，明帝時為尚書令，與王導等俱受顧命，輔㓜主。成帝即位，羣臣進壐，司徒王導以疾不至，壼正色於朝曰：王公豈社稷之臣邪！大行在殯，嗣皇未立，寧是人臣！辝疾之時，專任無敬，事寢不行，舉朝憚之，總括百揆，謝石為尚書令，上疏遜位曰：「尚書令，國之冢司，總括百揆，憲範王猷，式是羣辟，故必簡徳而㧞，量才而受。王恭嘗寓于司馬道子室，尚書令謝石為吳歌恭曰：「居端石之重，集宰相之坐，而效流俗之音乎！」石有慙色。 |
