42  | 皇清順治十四年，知縣侯康民增飾城垣，鼎新城樓而更其名，東曰紫來，西曰通郢，南曰光被。雍正五年，城復倒塌，知縣林鵬揚重修。六年，知縣程世繩續修。潛江縣城舊土城周四百丈，有竒髙一丈五尺，環城皆池，藉為濠。東瀕?水，舊常衝決。成化七年，縣丞李庸外築大隄，歲久就堙。嘉靖三十年，知縣夏泗重築土城髙固，勝前長倍之，俱覆以瓦。萬厯五年，知縣朱熙洽修建磚城，周九百二十八丈，髙一丈七尺。城樓五：東曰襄渚，西曰?陽，南曰漢別，北曰北鑰，西北曰歸辰水門，一曰朝宗，一曰通㑹。巡堡一十有四，石剅三以洩水。十一年，水決城二十丈，知縣王建中修葺。二十年，知縣曹珩又増修堡舍旗臺。 |
