《史記》曰：平原君既已定從，而歸至于趙，曰：「今毛生以三寸之舌，強于百萬之師。」 又曰：留侯曰：「今以三寸之舌為帝者師，卦萬戶，位列侯，此布衣之極，于良足也。」 又曰：張儀常從楚相飲，已而失璧，門下意儀盜璧，共執，掠笞數百，不服，釋之。其妻曰：「嘻！子無讀書游說，安得此辱乎？」儀張口謂其妻曰：「視吾舌尚在否？」妻曰：「君舌在也。」儀曰：「足矣。」 又曰：郭解任俠，有儒生侍使者坐，客譽郭解，生曰：「郭能專以奸犯法，公何謂賢？」解客聞之，殺此生，斷其舌。 |
