譽之，句必其行也，其言之忻。《說文·心部》云「忻，闓也」。司馬法曰「善者忻民之善，閉民之惡」，即此義。張云「若是者，其言可忻悅也」。使人督之。「督」，「篤」之借字。《書·微子之命》云「曰篤不忘」。《左·僖十二年傳》云「謂督不忘」，「督」即「篤」也。《爾雅·釋詁》云「篤，厚也」。言使人厚於為善行。張以此句屬下說誹，云「督，正也，人有惡，使人自正之」，恐非。畢云：「此釋《經上》『譽，明美也』。」
