Posted by: sschneewind (Sarah Schneewind)As far as I can tell, Legge did not translate the penultimate sentence of this passage: 恐人倚乃身,迂乃心. Unless I am missing something, I would suggest adding the following translation:
「If in fear of another you crook your body, it will mean perverting your mind.」

Posted by: sschneewind (Sarah Schneewind)Hmm, no. Because the point is they are talking amongst themselves and getting themselves into a fret instead of trusting his decisions. So it must be something like "Fearful people crook their bodies and end by perverting their minds" or "If in fear of others [words] you huddle up your bodies, you are in fact twisting your minds." Sorry to have gone off half-cocked.

Posted by: dsturgeon (Donald Sturgeon)Thanks a lot for pointing this out. "今予命汝一無起穢以自臭" also seems to be missing in the translation.

I managed to find Legge's original at the Internet Archive, and it turns out that he did omit a couple of lines in the version of his translation transcribed on the site:

But in another (earlier) version, he translated the missing text as: "Now I charge you to have but one mind. Do not let wicked thoughts arise to ruin yourselves. I am afraid that men bend your persons, and pervert your minds." - I've added this in.
