| 諸侯礿則不禘， | The princes of the states who offered the spring sacrifice omitted that of the summer; |
| 禘則不嘗， | those who offered that of the summer omitted that of the autumn; |
| 嘗則不烝， | those who sacrificed in autumn did not do so in winter; |
| 烝則不礿。 | and those who sacrificed in winter did not do so in spring. |
| 諸侯礿，犆； | In spring they offered the sacrifice of the season by itself apart; |
| 禘，一犆一祫； | in summer, in the fane of the high ancestor; |
| 嘗，祫；烝，祫。 | in autumn and winter both the sacrifices were there associated together. |
