三歲為婦、For three years I was your wife,
靡室勞矣。And thought nothing of my toil in your house.
夙興夜寐、I rose early and went to sleep late,
靡有朝矣。Not intermitting my labours for a morning.
言既遂矣、Thus [on my part] our contract was fulfilled,
至于暴矣。But you have behaved thus cruelly.
兄弟不知、My brothers will not know [all this],
咥其笑矣。And will only laugh at me.
靜言思之、Silently I think of it,
躬自悼矣。And bemoan myself.
