(Matching heaven)
善為士者，He who in (Dao's) wars has skill
不武；Assumes no martial port;
善戰者，He who fights with most good will
不怒；To rage makes no resort.
善勝敵者，He who vanquishes yet still
不與；Keeps from his foes apart;
善用人者，He whose hests men most fulfil
為之下。Yet humbly plies his art.
是謂不爭之德，Thus we say, 'He never contends, And therein is his might.'
是謂用人之力，Thus we say, 'Men's wills he bends, That they with him unite.'
是謂配天古之極。Thus we say, 'Like Heaven's his ends, No sage of old more bright.'
