sì fāng ㄙˋ ㄈㄤ (1): 東南西北。 North, south, east, and west.
《禮記·曲禮下》:天子祭天地，祭四方，祭山川，祭五祀，歲遍。
The son of Heaven sacrifices (or presents oblations) to Heaven and Earth; to the (spirits presiding over the) four quarters; to (the spirits of) the hills and rivers; and offers the five sacrifices of the house, all in the course of the year.
《周禮·春官宗伯》:以血祭祭社稷、五祀、五岳，以貍沈祭山林川澤，以副辜祭四方百物。
