《淮南子·墬形訓》:西方之美者，有霍山之珠玉焉。
《說苑·辨物》:霍山，南嶽也。
《逸周書·職方解》:河內曰冀州，其山鎮曰霍山，其澤藪曰揚紆，其川漳，其浸汾露，其利松柏，其民五男三女，其畜宜牛羊，其穀宜黍稷。
