國在立太子者，防篡煞，壓臣子之亂也。《春秋》之弒太子，罪與弒君同。《春秋》曰：「弒其君之子奚齊。」明與弒君同也。君薨，適夫人無子，有育遺腹，必待其產立之何？專適重正也。《曾子問》曰：「立適以長不以賢何？以言為賢不肖，不可知也。」《尚書》曰：「惟帝其難之。」立子以貴不以長，防愛憎也。《春秋傳》曰：「適以長不以賢，立子以貴不以長也。」
