95  | 鄭崇儉，字大章，寧鄉人。萬厯四十四年進士。授河南推官，有政聲。歴濟南兵備副使，亷正不擾，逺近頌之。崇禎三年遷陜西右參政。屢遷右僉都御史，巡撫寧夏。數敗套部，賚銀幣，世蔭錦衣副千戸。十二年正月，擢兵部右侍郎，總督陜西三邊軍務。五月，總理熊文燦請敇，崇儉提兵，合擊張獻忠、羅汝才。崇儉以將帥胥入衞，急請曹變蛟還鎮，不許。徴柴時華及延、寧二鎮兵又不至，發西安，士馬單弱。副將李國奇至洛陽，卒大譟，坐貶一秩。獻忠謀入陜，崇儉督國奇及賀人龍扼之興安。賊乃轉入興山、大平，處楚、蜀交。先是，尚書傅宗龍議令崇儉兼督蜀軍，而督師楊嗣昌亦檄秦軍入蜀。崇儉乃以十三年二月率人龍、國奇兵直抵瑪瑙山，與左良玉㑹。初七日，兩軍夾擊，賊大敗。崇儉軍獲首功千三百，降賊將三十五人，獲馬驘甲仗無算，論功所賜半，嗣昌但増一秩，復先所降一秩而已。獻忠竄柯家坪，蜀將張令追之，被圍。崇儉急遣兵擊走賊，復督人龍、國奇及髙傑等追敗之寒溪寺、鹽井，先後斬首千五百級。其黨順天王、一條龍、一隻龍皆降。崇儉軍五日三捷，威名甚振，以年衰乞骸骨，不許，令還關中留人龍國奇討賊，及人龍軍大譟歸，嗣昌，因言崇儉撤兵太早，致賊猖獗，命削籍候代。明年春，襄陽陷，上益恨崇儉不犄角平賊，逮下獄，責以縱兵擅還，失誤軍律，以五月遇害。後福王時㦯建言：「崇儉未失一城喪一旅，因他人巧卸，遂服上刑，羣臣微知其寃，無敢為訟言者，臣甚痛之」。崇儉寃始白。 |
