11  | 郭應聘，字君賓，莆田人，隆慶中，由郎中出知南寧，累遷廣西按察使，尋晉右布政使。忠州桀夷黄賢相與思明蠻爭地，應聘密授兵備，譚惟鼎計擒賢相㑹，巡撫殷正茂遷總督，遂擢應聘為右副都御史代之，首奏以忠州四都地建新寧州，以終前功。有府江猺者，上起陽朔、下達、昭平諸猺，夾江而居，怙險剽刼，成化、正徳間，都御史韓雍、陳金討平之，至是復反，攻圍茘浦，永安刼，知州楊惟執、指揮胡潮應聘，㑹正茂聞於朝，集土漢兵六萬，令總兵李錫進討，未行而懐逺猺亦殺知縣馬希武反，應聘與正茂議先征府江，三月悉定，乃檄錫討懐逺天大，●雪，引兵還，懐逺古牂牁地界湖、貴、靖、黎諸州，嘉靖中征之不克，知縣寄居府城，遥示羈縻而已。時希武見殺，師出無功，於是應聘益調諸路兵，鎮撫白果、黄土、大梅、青淇峝獞，以孤賊勢，錫與諸將連破賊，斬其魁懐逺乃下，而陽朔、金寶嶺賊亦定，乃分遣諸將門崇文等討洛容、上油、邉山，五叛猺悉平，神宗大悦，進兵部右侍郎，巡撫如故。萬厯二年，召為户部右侍郎，尋以憂歸。八年，起改兵部，仍撫廣西。時十寨初下，應聘與總督劉堯誨奏設三鎮●賓州，以土巡檢守之，而統於思恩參將，十寨遂安。拜兵部尚書，引疾歸，卒，諡襄靖。 |
