《卷十一》

帝以官多擾民，勅吏部等議裁革，于是省參政三，參議二、副使五、僉事二、同知以下一百五十餘員。九月，賜大學士王文、陳循子俱明年㑹試。自設科以來，輔臣子弟少登第者。是秋，文子倫、循子瑛，應順天鄉試被黜，文循構考官劉儼、黃諌，欲殺之，臺省譁然，髙穀言于帝曰：「大臣子與寒士競進已不可，況又不安于命，欲殺考官，可乎？」帝命翰林院、禮部覆閟貢士巻，有優于倫瑛者，有相等者，有不及者，勉徇二人意，命其子一體㑹試而心薄之，于是六科給事中言：「宋范質為相，其從子求遷秩，質作詩戒之。韓億之子維舉進士，以父執政，不就廷試，方之、陳循、王文賢不肖何如也，況應試者十八百，有竒而中式者百三十五人，倘一概援例求進，是壊科目之制矣。循等所行乖悖，乞正其罪」。詔姑貸之。質實，劉儼，字宣化，吉水人。黄諌，字廷臣，蘭州人。追諡宋丞相文天祥，侍郎謝枋得。
