14  | 吳曾《能改齋漫錄》云：仁宗嘗御便殿，有二近侍爭辯，聲聞御前。仁宗召 問之，曰：甲言貴賤在命，乙言貴賤由至尊。帝默然，即以二小金合各書數字藏 於中。曰：「先到者保奏給事有勞推恩。」封秘甚嚴。先命乙攜一往內東門司， 約及半道，命甲攜一繼往。無何，內東門司保奏甲推恩。仁宗怪問之，乃是乙至 半道足跌傷甚，莫能行，甲遂先到。與時按：唐張擰凍野僉》載魏徵為僕射， 有二典事之長參。時徵方寢，二人窗下平章。一人曰：「我等官職總由此老翁。」 一人曰：「總由天上。」徵聞之，遂作一書遺曰此老翁者，送至侍郎處，云與此 人一員好官。其人不知，出門心痛，憑由天者送書。明日引注，由老翁者被放， 由天上者得留。徵怪而問焉，且以實對，乃歎曰：「官職祿科由天者，蓋不虛也。」 二事蓋只一事，曾傳聞之誤耳。聖君、賢相一祝一笑，猶當愛之，豈肯激於一 夫之言，而輕用慶賞鄭公之事已不足信，而我仁宗皇帝豈為是哉 |
