秋七月戊辰，齊遣尚書左丞陸騫將兵二萬救齊昌，出自巴、蘄，出自巴水、蘄水之間也。將，卽亮翻。蘄，音機，又音祁。遇西陽太守汝南周炅。西陽郡在黃岡縣界。炅，枯迥翻，又古惠翻。炅留羸弱，設疑兵以當之，身帥精銳，由間道邀其後，大破之。羸，倫為翻。帥，讀曰率。間，古莧翻。己巳，征北大將軍吳明徹軍至峽口，克其北岸城；南岸守者棄城走。峽口，峽石口也。夾岸築兩城以扼淮流。吳明徹以功進律，自從二品升第二品。周炅克巴州。後齊置巴州於黃岡。淮北、絳城及穀陽士民，並殺其戍主，以城降。絳城蓋虹縣城，音同而字異耳。《五代志》：彭城郡穀陽縣，後齊置穀陽郡。

詔徵安州刺史周炅入朝。按《五代志》：西魏置安州於安陸，梁、陳無安州。《隋書·周法尚傳》：炅為定州刺史，或者「安」字其「定」字之誤歟？朝，直遙翻。初，梁定州刺史田龍升以城降，定州，梁置，治蒙蘢城。《水經注》：舉水出龜頭山，西北流，逕蒙蘢城南，梁定州治。《五代志》：永安郡麻城縣，陳置定州。詔仍舊任。及炅入朝，龍升以江北六州、七鎭叛入于齊，齊遣歷陽王景安將兵應之。詔以炅為江北道大都督，總衆軍以討龍升，斬之。景安退走，盡復江北之地。
