楊榮字勉仁，生時名道應，祖達卿聞啼聲，曰：「雄哉！是子必榮顯吾家。」更名子榮。永樂初，命去「子」字，單名榮。宣德朝，被賜銀圖書五顆，曰「方直剛正」，曰「忠孝流芳」，曰「關西後裔」，曰「建安楊榮」，曰「楊氏勉仁」。
