1  | 明張鳴鳳撰。鳴鳳有《西遷注》，已著錄。是二書並成於萬歷癸丑。《桂勝》序題五月六日，《桂故》序題七月朔，劉繼文序稱，前十六卷為《桂勝》，志桂概也。後八卷為《桂故》，志故實也。鳴鳳《桂勝》自序，亦稱外《桂故》八卷，用輔以行。《桂故》自序稱，「餘志《桂勝》，竊跡前事」云云。則二書相因而作，實一書也。《桂勝》以山水標目，各引証諸書，敘述於前，即以歷代詩文附本條下。而於石刻題名之類，搜採尤詳。又隨事附以考証，多所訂正。董斯張《吳興備志》、朱彞尊《日下舊聞》即全仿其體例，於地志之中最為典雅。《桂故》分郡國、官名、先政、先獻、游寓、雜志六門。郡國，考歷代沿革，詳列史志，辨今之桂林非古之桂林。官名，則臚舉歷代之制。蓋疆域明則先獻有所斷限，職制明則先政有所徵驗。乃不至如他志書，人物、名宦附會牽合，故以冠於首也。 |
