114  | 李昆，山東髙密人，進士。正德初，以按察副使分巡漢中。時流寇嘯聚，掠漢中，勢焰甚熾。昆督兵討之，至西鄉，僉曰：「不宜遽進」。昆曰：「賊過，河不可當矣」。乘其半渡擊之，親冒矢石至瓦房溝，大破之，斬首千餘，賊遁去。盛應期，字思徵，江南吴縣人。進士。累官陜西左布政。鎮守宦官廖鑾漁奪民財，侵盜官帑，有司莫敢問。應期以法剪其羽翼，廖不懌，思中之，檄督造絨罽，費且巨萬。應期按籍知廖前侵費數萬，乃持數以示廖。廖惶恐跪謝，遂不敢復造。時武廟將蹕榆林，衆洶洶，議加賦，應期持不可，請於正賦內以丁糧為差，出米銀若干，聽准來嵗賦入數，民不知勞扈從，諸倖氣焰薫炙，撫監重臣無敢吐氣。應期獨暇，整不為懾，請求皆裁以法。時司徒李承勛在行間，嘆曰：「承勛自謂男子，乃今知不逮矣」。上亦亟稱為良佐才。後陞右副都御史，巡撫四川。 |
