陳嘏晉江人，開成間進士，累官刑部郎中。宣帝嘗竒其才，曰：「陳嘏，琬、琰器也」。陳叔達字子聰。武德初，判納言。嘗賜蒲萄不舉，帝問之，對曰：「臣母病渇，求不能致，願奉之」。陳巖字夢臣，建寧縣人，慷慨有智畧。乾符間，黄巢轉掠福建諸州，巖聚衆數千，號九龍軍，保鄉里，巢不能為害，時邑為黃連鎮，巖表為寧義軍，置鼓角，賜牌印，巖剪除餘冦，撫安鄉井，境內賴之。中和四年，福建觀察使鄭鎰表巖自代巖為治有威惠，吏民懐服。
