| 15 | 段民，字時舉，武進人。永樂二年進士。庶吉士，與修《永樂大典》，除刑部主事。又與修《五經四書》、性理大全》。永樂十八年，妖賊唐賽兒反。十九年冬，陞山東叅政，討平之。當是時，索賽兒急，盡逮山東、北京尼，既又盡逮天下出家婦女，先後幾萬人。撫定綏輯，曲為解釋。駕征北漠，敕民轉餉，舟自濟。寧至通州。俄又令陸轉、居庸關出塞。民節約，曲算省財，民力不擾。事集道中，忽降敕令民與巡按御史考所過郡縣吏。宣德三年召入戶部，為右侍郎，尋改刑部。特賜敕民廉介端謹，令考察在京百司。先是榜例越訴者杖百謫戍，邊民請罪如律。九年卒官。貧不能喪，吳文恪力為經紀，始克殮。成化間，葉文莊請褒之，不果。贈刑部尚書，謚恭肅。 |
