三月一日，禄山将拜官也，玄宗以宰相处之，命太常卿、翰林学士张垍草诏。既而杨国忠谏曰：「禄山不识文字，命之为相，恐四夷轻中国。」乃止。将行也，玄宗命高力士送之于长乐坡。力士归，玄宗谓曰：「禄山喜乎？」对曰：「恨不得宰相，颇怏怏。」杨国忠曰：「此张垍所泄也。」玄宗大怒，黜垍泸溪郡司马。初，垍赞相礼仪雍容。玄宗翌日谓垍曰：「朕罢希烈，以卿代之。」垍曰：「不敢。」贵妃在座，遂告国忠叛之，因以为恨。
