夏四月壬申，禮部尚書呂震請封禪。帝曰：「今天下雖無事，四方多水旱疾疫，安敢自謂太平。且《六經》無封禪之文，事不師古，甚無謂也。」不聽。乙亥，胡廣為文淵閣大學士。六月丁卯，都督同知蔡福等備倭山東。

冬十月，李彬敗交阯賊楊進江，斬之。十一月癸酉，禮部尚書趙羾為兵部尚書，巡視塞北屯戍軍民利弊。

秋七月己未，阿魯台棄輜重於濶欒海側北遁，發兵焚之，收其牲畜，遂旋師。謂諸將曰：「阿魯台敢悖逆，恃兀良哈為羽翼也。當還師翦之。」簡步騎二萬，分五道並進。庚午，遇於屈裂兒河，帝親擊敗之，追奔三十里，斬部長數十人。辛未，徇河西，捕斬甚眾。甲戌，兀良哈餘黨詣軍門降。是月，皇太子免南、北直隸、山東、河南郡縣水災糧芻共六十一萬有奇。八月戊戌，諸將分道者俱獻捷。辛丑，以班師詔天下。壬寅，鄭亨、薛祿守開平。鄭和還。九月壬戌，至京師。癸亥，下左春坊大學士楊士奇於獄。丙寅，下吏部尚書蹇義、禮部尚書呂震於獄，尋俱釋之。辛未，錄從征功，封左都督朱榮武進伯，都督僉事薛貴安順伯。
