御溝在古御道兩旁，歳久堙塞事跡。南史桂陽王休範舉兵杜黑騾，乘勝渡淮，黃門侍郎王藴傷重，踣於御溝之側。　《實録》：朱雀門北對宣陽門，相去六里，名為御道，夾開御溝，嵗久湮塞，今宫城以南御街，兩邊俱有溝，在居民屋下者，乃南唐所開，非六朝之舊跡。呉融詩云：「一水終南下，何年𣲖作溝！穿城初北注，過苑卻東流，遶岸清波溢，連宮瑞氣浮，去應涵鳯沼，來必渗龍湫。激石珠争碎，縈堤練不收，照花長樂曙泛葉建章秋影炫金莖，表光搖綺陌，頭旁沾畫眉府斜入教簫樓有雨難，澄鏡無萍易擲鈎，鼓宜堯女瑟盪必。蔡姬舟臯看通鳴，鶴津應接斗牛迴風還㶑㶑和月更悠悠淺憶觴堪泛，深思杖可投祗懐涇合慮，不帶隴分愁，自有朝宗樂，曽無遺穴憂不勞誇，大漢，清渭貫神州」。 王半山詩》云：「渺渺金河漲，欲平，數支分淥報清明，常縈輦路，漂花去，更飲流杯送酒行，靜見金輿穿樹影，清含玉漏過牆聲，衰顔一照自多感，回首江南春水生。
